PIONEER DISPLAYS AND DEMOS

Rope making is a popular exhibit where from twine substantial ropes are made. You can try to make your own with some guidance from our volunteers.

Pioneer demonstration of Piche oven bread is a popular event of our Festival. Over a period of a couple of hours the clay ovens are fired up for heating to an appropriate temperature, placing the oven loaf pans inside and maintaining a required temperature. This is a carefully planned project as there are many variables, which our pioneer workers must attend to over the period. Piche oven bread has a unique taste and aroma only available for bread sales are rapid on site at these ovens.

Then you can also witness the old fashioned blacksmith who creates metal objects with steel designs.
Other related pioneer demonstrations are exhibited at the Heritage Village at the east end of the Festival grounds.
