The Threads that Connect exhibit is a reflection on how clothing and costumes have woven our lives together. The curator's tour takes you on a textile journey through time from historical folk clothing to contemporary dance costumes. Particular attention is given to the role that fashion and performance costuming has had in maintaining ties to cultural identity and keeping the culture alive. The intention is to share the many stories of the clothing we have worn throughout the years and stimulate conversation among those who cherish needlework, weaving, and couture. The exhibit is part of the Threads that Connect 2021 Project presented by Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts and Ukrainian Resource and Development Centre at MacEwan University.
