For 40 years, the Parkland Ukrainian Dancers have been preserving Ukrainian Culture in Parkland County.  The Parkland Ukrainian Dancers Society (PUDS) was established in 1983 to provide youth of the community with the opportunity to experience and appreciate Ukrainian culture through costume, music and dance.   The group currently has 52 dancers amongst 6 groups, ranging in age from 3 years old to adult, and is led by artistic directors Kayla Devaux, and Matthew Borys.

Their Hopak performance is a collaboration between dancers and students from Melanie Doderai and various fiddle communities within Alberta in celebration of the vibrant Ukrainian culture in our province. This unique project has taught musicians the nuances needed to play for live performances and has given the dancers the opportunity to listen intently for instrumental cues.
