A Window in Time
Painted by Larisa Sembaliuk Cheladyn, Artist
"A Window in Time" is a specially commissioned work of art commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the Ukrainian Pysanka Festival held annually in Vegreville, AB.
This image reflects the festive atmosphere for which the event is famous. Larisa has incorporated many aspects of the festival into the paninting -- dancing, food, costuming, folkarts, and of course the Vegreville Pysanka. A Hospodar and Hospodenia, offering a traditional welcome, serves as the central focal point.
The Print is a Limited Edition of 300.
This limited edition lithograph of the commissioned original painting, extends a heart felt welcome to celebrate the fabulous Vegreville Pysanka Festival's rich past, vibrant present and exciting future.
Larisa Sembaliuk Cheladyn is an accomplished multimedia aritst. Her works are in private and corporate collections throughout North and South America, Australia and Europe. Larisa completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1981 from the University of Alberta and now specializes in watercolours.
Larisa's vivid, rich style has created a substantial following in her works. Her dramatic compositions and bold use of colour evoke passionate, lively moods. This unique combination brings to life each image within it's own natural setting and streches the parameters of traditional watercolour techniques. Larisa enjoys incorporating symbols from her Ukrainian heritage into her paintings.
Larisa is the daughter of Paul Sembaliuk, who designed Vegreville's famous "Worlds Largest Pysanka". She has personally attended the Vegreville Festival many times with her family and was thrilled at having been chosen to paint an original work of art to commemorate the Festival's 25th Anniversary.
