Steven Chwok is well known in our Ukrainian community as an accomplished musician on Ukraine's second national instrument the tsymbaly.  He performed for many years in a Zabava band and toured Canada on three occasions with the Shumka Dancers as a tsymbalist performing with symphonies across Canada.  

 

Steven has been the host of Canada’s longest running Ukrainian radio program for the past sixteen years on 840 CFCW.  Steven is one of the founding members of Edmonton’s Ukrainian Festival called UFest.  In 2010, Steven was inducted into the Music Hall of Fame at Dauphin Manitoba's National Ukrainian Festival.  In 2013, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress presented Steven with the Hetman Award for his leadership in our Ukrainian community and in 2016, Steven was inducted into the Music Hall of Honor at Vegreville's Pysanka Festival.

 

Steven is especially proud to be married to his wife Deonne for 31 years and together they have four beautiful children.
