Mike Ciona grew up at the Pysanka Festival.  Originally from Edmonton, he now calls Saskatoon home.  

 

The CTV Morning Live Weather Anchor is also actively involved in the Ukrainian-Canadian community across the country.

 

As an emcee, Mike has graced stages from Bloor Street in Toronto, to Foam Lake Saskatchewan.  He has entertained crowds at Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival in Dauphin, Vesna Festival in Sasktoon, Calgary Ukrainian Festival, and of course right here in Vegreville.

 

“Being asked to come back to Vegreville to emcee the 50th Pysanka Festival is an incredible honour” said Ciona, who added “now more than ever, it’s incumbent upon us to preserve and celebrate our Ukrainian culture all over the world. Слава Україні!”
